Sarah Barton is just as dedicated working with the horse(person) as she is working with the horse,so that horse and human can have a unique bond and relationship. She is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that the client and horse fully understand and enjoy her teaching and services. She also offers multiple clinics that are suitable for adults and children alike. Working with her throughout the past few years, one thing that has always been evident to me is her patience. One horse in particular showed me just how patient she is. In the year of 2020, we brought Sarah a horse. It was a 15 year old, little black mare named Rihanna, and she was my very first horse... and she came with alot of emotional and physical baggage. She spent most of those first few months in her "shell" an emotional barrier that protected her from the outside world. Basically, she would shut down, not be curious or interact with anything, especially humans. She would just stand in the middle of the arena, eye glazed and body rigid. She couldn't be tied, or else she'd pull back. She was extremely head shy, spooky and defensive. Under saddle, she bucked,pranced,head-tossed,and tried to bolt. And I was only 11 at the time! This is when most people would have told me to get a different horse, an older gelding. Something easy, something more reliable. But not Sarah, instead she helped me patiently and mindfully peel off each of Rihanna's layers, the mistrust, the spookiness, the shut down, the fear, the anger, all of it. And she helped me expose a diamond in the rough! Within a year, Rihanna was a trusting, willing partner who trusted and relied on me. The biggest game changer for us was something Sarah suggested: clicker training. Sarah is very knowledgeable in the method of clicker training and after a few months of groundwork, clicker training and TLC, she was a whole new horse! I am so happy that Sarah was brought into my life, and that Rihanna is now a happy, healthy horse who is my go-to ride and excels in clicker, cattle work and pre-liberty. I highly recommend working with Sarah at her top-notch facility. I can guarantee that she will be a constant source of inspiration,encouragement and knowledge. Ali Harr
